SAMENTA is acronym for the Small And Medium Enterprises Association.

SAMENTA was founded in early 1987 by a group of local entrepreneurs to represent the interests of the SMEs and the main objective of our association is for the purpose of assisting, promoting and developing the small and medium enterprises located in Northern Peninsular Malaysia.

Today, SAMENTA is recognized for its role in fostering the development and promotion of SMEs especially the State of Penang and in the Northern Region in General.

SAMENTA caters to a wide spectrum of enterprises ranging from medium sized hi-tech and precision oriented manufacturing concern to small sized food processing cottage industry and from service-oriented companies to those involved in the trading activities.

SAMENTA main role is to act as an information provider and disseminator, to bring up issues/problems facing the SMIs to the relevant authorities and to provide a platform for its members to market their products and services among themselves, thereby creating a network among the SMIs in Northern Malaysia.

SAMENTA also provide an opportunity for members to share/discuss their business experiences/opportunities and thus generate interest/growth/knowledge among its members.

SAMENTA also represented in several key public and private and private sectors committees which formulate plans and recommendations for the development and promotions of SMEs.
