We would like to welcome this Golden Rabbit year that will boost the Malaysian Economy and energize the SMEs businesses. At the same time I wish to thank Tourism Publications Corporation Sdn Bhd for the launch of the 10th edition of SMI/SME Business Directory. It is a publication that brings great value to SMEs in Malaysia to market their products and services to worldwide.

SMEs should adapt to the new  technologies and changing their was in doing businesses. Malaysia SMEs should improve to the new trends and grab this business opportunities that are coming their way through this convergence.

Based on our survey. we had observed that most SMEs waste their time thinking about what they have done last week, month or year. When they should have instead be looking forward and plan their next course of action. Our advice for SMEs are to put their effort and energy in developing future market strategies and identifying how they can position their business as a world market leader instead of spending valuable time analyzing results.

One needs to develop marketing strategies smartly in order to keep one’s business ahead of competition. SMEs needs to focus on their area such as Marketing & promotional strategies, competitive pricing, quality consciousness, innovation, after sales service, distribution network, sales force & etc. in order to beat their competitor.
